named Thomas
Jefferson "Jeff" GROUND, Jr., who may have lived in San Miguel
County, NM in the 1890's. He previously lived in Texas and was
a postmaster and notary public in Hulltown, Shackelford County,
Texas. I'm researching the history of Hulltown (now called
Moran). Mr. GROUND was one of the town's earliest settlers and
I am interested in locating descendants of his to see if they
know more about it. Any information would be most appreciated.

on my great-grandfather. He was Antonio Abad ROMERO, living in
the Las Vegas area. He was born in 1822. His one daughter,
Maria Dolores married a fellow named E.E. GEHRING. I only know
of her and my grandfather, Don Pedro, born 1864. He delivered
water in Las Vegas. My father tells me that the battle of
Kearney Gap was fought on my grandfathers ranch. If any one has

trying to find information on the Edward Sidney LEWIS family;
his children: Edward Jr., Mary Emily and William Vasse (my
father). |

Edward Sr. was a trumpeter in the Las Vegas military band before
the Spanish American War, and served with the Rough Riders.
However, I don't know when he moved to Las Vegas. He also
served as a Deputy US Marshal for the New Mexico Territory. I
know very little else about my grandfather (Edward, Sr.) or
grandmother (Lida Gorham Vasse) or their parents/siblings. I'd
appreciate any information on the family, especially information

QUERY:
Since posting my first query in San Miguel county, I have gotten
the death certificate of Missouri Price DEAN. She died in Las
Vegas on 19 Aug 1938. Her sister, Virginia CARMACK died 6 Feb
1939. On both death certificates, the informant was Mrs
TARRENCE P GRAHAM of 910 North Eleventh Street. It is possible
that Mrs. Graham is the daughter, Frankie, or Frances DEAN
GRAHAM. I have heard that there is a GRAHAM Drug store in Las
Vegas. If anyone from Las Vegas reads this query, could someone
call and ask if the two GRAHAM names are the same person? Any
help would be greatly appreciated. |
